So – you’ve might have already gotten the hint that I’m crazy about my chickens! I’m so happy to have a backyard flock again and can’t wait to share!

Several years ago, I had a tiny backyard flock that I had to sadly leave behind when we moved. Thankfully, the new homeowners were thrilled to keep my hens so they got to stay put.

Finally, this past Spring we jumped into again raising a backyard flock! I purchased chicks of different breeds I found on craigslist, local breeders and My Pet Chicken. My husband caught my enthusiasm and built a beautiful wood brooder box and The Shady Coop! I’ll be sharing building details of each in a separate post.
